Some thoughts:

The mind… Wow! What an interesting topic to ponder. I have been obsessively researching tons and tons of information on the mind and have read, from dozens of sources, many findings and facts on the mind. I have extended my research from science to psychology, to religious and spiritual text. All of these sources explain the mind in so many different ways. I’ve come to notice something through these observations of the mind these past few years. You see, your mind is yours no matter what. Anything you think and feel, you think it and you feel it before you put it out into the world. Whether good or bad, you feel first. If we pay enough attention to the mind we can have more control over it than we think we can. We are so disconnected and out of touch with the mind because we are never actually taught what the mind is truly capable of or how it works and functions. A great way to put this is, we are given an airplane, such a powerful and great invention, but only with 5 pages of the manual. Those 5 pages might get you started but you won’t actually learn how to fly and use this elegant machine to its fullest capacity. In observing my own mind I have noticed that there are many levels to the mind and with every level of thinking come magnetic like situations and experiences. For instance, when you feel and think positively it seems as if you can take a breath of air and say, “Hmm, things are not so bad”, and you get to enjoy good conversation and see the good behind it all. When you think negatively, you think the whole world is going to shambles and there is just no hope. Or then again, you can look at the bright side and see the tremendous breakthroughs we have achieved as a species. The way you see it, of course, all depends on your choosing. This raises a very deep and interesting topic and question. Is the mind in actuality, just one big field of Emptiness?

Seriously. The mind might just be as good as an unused guitar, already made and capable of creating extremely amazing sounds but won’t do so unless a human comes along and starts hitting the proper chords to create elegant music for the ears and human spirit. The point is, by looks the guitar might just look like just another physical object, but when the proper musician comes along they can blow you away with amazing melodies. This also works in a different way, in which the different level of knowing one has about the use of the guitar, makes the sound come out differently. Why is this important? Because we can use this to look at our own lives. Our life can be compared to the sound that comes from the guitar. Each one of us here on earth are beating our drums to our own beat, playing our own melody, and singing our own songs. Some peoples songs may sound uplifting or dark and chilling, and some inspirational. Many songs might sound chaotic. Certain songs can be educational. The thing to focus on here is, if we wish for our lives to change we can simply learn to sing another song. See, a lot of times your mind and life might not do something different because you haven’t challenged it or told it to do something different. Do not tell me you have no control over your mind. If that is so, then you should stop everything you are doing RIGHT NOW and get to work taking the proper steps in order to gain control. Maybe your mind is out of control because you have not focused on it recently. If you monitor the different states of thinking your mind experiences throughout your life you will come to realize that everybody around you at some level, subconsciously perhaps, picks up your vibes. So when you are happy you might notice more people reaching out to you or looking for you. When you are down or not feeling well maybe your phone is quiet, your business isn’t doing well, or you find constantly challenging situations coming your way. If you haven’t noticed this, I want you to take a week to become extra observant of your behaviors and the situations and regular everyday occurrences that pass you by and see how they mimic each other. Of course there are some exceptions, but that is a whole other conversation we will have in the near future.
Many times in life we react to our experiences instead of reflecting on them and responding to them. We should just try to find a way to respond differently. Some people believe that what they think in their mind is so true and so real that they go mad to the point where they may even become self destructive. Now this is silly considering how easy it is to gain control over the mind. I know, I know, you probably think I have gone mad myself because you have tried to control your mind already. Let me guess… it didn’t work? Well, this is what I have to say to that: Do you think a marathon runner got up one morning and ran 26 miles with no sweat and no proper training? The obvious answer is no. He/she dedicated hours and hours of hard work and sweat, and absolutely embraced every bit of soreness and hardship. It is same with the training of the mind folks. That too needs hours and hours of your attention. Mental work is often not acknowledged because we are so focused on the external work that we just wake up and go. We don’t say hello to our mind. Then all day we take our chances on how we are going to feel depending on how our day goes, instead of gaining control over how we feel. We need to learn how to train and focus our mind as if we were going to run the biggest marathon of our lives. Great athletes are created by putting in hours and hours of work toward a specific goal. They work hard to become better than they are today and that takes tons of practice. In our lives, because we have innocently been led wrong in certain things, we go out onto the basketball court expecting to play like Michael Jordan. We, however, haven’t even trained nearly as much as MJ has trained and it is foolish to think that you can “play” to his capacity without practice. Having said that it is also foolish for you to expect your mind to be amazing if you are not training it everyday. So, how or where do you start?
Lets start with something simple today and for the next 7 days. I want you to, obsessively like an athlete, work and focus on your mind. How does it think? What does it do in certain situations? How is anger triggered? What makes you happy? Pay attention to where your mind can be self destructive and then pay attention to where your mind can be constructive. Maybe even put it down on paper and write out the pro’s and con’s of your mind and what it is giving to you in return according to how you are using it. You will find that you have much improvement and self empowerment to gain. Training is never feared by the champion. If you give into your fear then you will never gain access to your most expressive self. The only way a bodybuilder can have peace at night is by knowing he gave his body everything it was able handle that day and by doing that he will feel great about himself. We humans sometimes are so silly because we yearn to become better but we enter a state of sadness before we can do anything about it.
A thought to ponder (one which I personally have benefited greatly from): The mind is one big field of emptiness and I as the Observer of the mind and reality can make the conscious choice to start chipping away at the layers of the mind that don’t serve the growth I am capable of and the reality I wish to experience. If the mind is one big field of emptiness then one might want to take responsibility in the way his/her life looks and stop blaming others. For example, the economy, their upbringing, their bad luck they have to take responsibility for their broken life and start looking at different solutions for the development of the mind. There is plenty of great information out there. Look for it and it will make its way to you. We can always make the conscious choice to shift and alter our thoughts according to the level of allowance we give. If we can do this then we can have full control over what we allow to become present in the mind. Little by little you can now start to gain more inner strength, through proper training, and focus on feeling more satisfied with the thoughts streaming through your mind. The way you can change your mind, I promise you it is as simple as changing the radio station in your car or a song on your iPod, just make the decision to change. Focus on something different and you will start to see and experience something different. The level of intensity you do this at, is the level of intensity you will experience this in your life. I say that the mind is empty by nature because the I Am aspect of your mind can make your mind imagine and think about a green apple, a vacation in Greece, or how I need to get ready in a few minutes to go exercise. Whatever you put in your mind the universe starts to follow. If you want a white Audi I can guarantee you, you will first start to see it everywhere on the road as if the whole planet drives Audi’s. The mind just follows the Observer and you are the Observer. All you must do is Observe differently and you shall experience something different. Most importantly be patient with your searching for a more peaceful mind, for it takes a lot of training to be great. Your peaceful mind is ONE decision away. Take the emptiness of the mind and mold it into that which you wish to see in your life. Use your mind to manifest more money, action, health, wisdom, knowledge, happiness, serenity, balance, and true abundance. The mind never told you it wanted to feel bad. It is just signaling what you have allowed to come in. Even if your mind feels great I challenge you to feel even better. The fact that you can even think about feeling better means you can feel better than you do now. Host such a level of power and happiness that you shake the world out of its limitation. While you are living here on earth you can have a truly amazing life. It is important to remember that you do not take your dreams to the graveyard with you. Leave your dreams here on earth; manifested and ready to be viewed by others who will come after us. So that they too may be inspired to follow their hearts and minds to make their visions and dreams reality. Be the Leader of your mind.
Thank You and I wish for you the most peaceful, constructive, beautiful mind you can possibly host.
